Not only did George H.W. Bush celebrate his 90th birthday on Thursday by skydiving, but he also received a phone call and a gift by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Yes, they spoke at 2 p.m.,” Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told Business Insider. “President Putin also sent a portrait. … It is a portrait of President Bush as a young Navy ensign in his dress whites.”

In addition to the attention from Mr. Putin, the 41st president and former CIA director was also wished a happy birthday from the Kremlin’s official Twitter page.

Before Mr. Bush jumped out of a helicopter, he told NBC’s “Today”: “I got one more left in me. It’ll be fun.”
