Toyota Motor Corp. has recalled almost 650,000 vehicles in Japan over air bag glitches that could lead to faulty discharges — leading to fires — during operation.
The company is also repeating a recall for hundreds of thousands of vehicles that were identified as problematic for the same issue last year, The Associated Press reported. The total recall is 2.27 million vehicles, AP reported.
The recall affects 20 Toyota models, including Corolla compacts, Tundra pickups made between 2003 and 2004 and some Lexus SC 430 coupes made between 2002 and 2004.
