CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Secretary of State Natalie Tennant’s office has removed all business filings from its website after one displayed an individual’s Social Security number.

Tennant tells WCHS-TV (https://bit.ly/1m3dXVH ) that the image displaying the number was immediately removed after her office was notified.

She says all business filings have been removed as a precautionary measure. Her office is reviewing the filings to ensure that businesses and their owners are protected.

Tennant says the number that was displayed was contained in a business filing submitted in 2008, before she took office. She says she implemented heightened security measures to prevent such incidents.

Countryside Insurance owner Sandra Kay Ashworth told WCHS-TV that her Social Security number was displayed on the secretary of state’s website on Friday.
