RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police are trying to figure out if a fatal shooting in Raleigh is linked to problems at a nearby nightclub.

Investigators said 26-year-old Vernon Jones Jr. was shot several times around 3:15 a.m. Sunday outside of Club Bodi near downtown Raleigh. He died a short time later at the hospital.

Police say moments before the shooting, they think the victim was inside the club when a disturbance caused a number of people inside to run away. The shooting victim was found about a block from the club.

Investigators are looking to talk to anyone in the club to solve the killing.
