A San Antonio man was arrested and charged in the thrill killing of a 56-year-old man, who was waiting for an Amtrak train before being brutally beaten in front of horrified onlookers.
Michael Joseph Fobbs, 21, said “I feel like killing someone,” before approaching the victim, who was sitting alone on a bench waiting to board a train late Thursday night, a local ABC affiliate reported.
Mr. Fobbs proceeded to beat the man in front of a shocked crowd until he was dead. Amtrak security rushed to the scene but it was already too late.
Joseph Keith Richard, of Marble Falls, was just three days shy of his 57th birthday, the station reported.
The incident was caught on the station’s surveillance camera.
Witnesses told police that after the killing, Mr. Fobbs calmly walked into a restroom and changed his bloody shirt before officers arrived and arrested him, ABC reported.
Mr. Fobbs has been charged with murder and is in Bexar County jail under a $150,000 bond.
