Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts re-released a television ad Monday that raises questions about whether his tea party-backed opponent can be trusted if elected to the Senate.

“Dr. Milton Wolf’s patients trusted him, but stunning news reports show that Wolf exposed private patient X-rays and other personal information on Facebook — where Wolf relentlessly poked fun at the dead or wounded,” the narrator says in the ad, alluding to news reports earlier this year about Mr. Wolf’s decision to post X-ray images of gunshot fatalities and medical injuries.

“A Kansas City medical ethics expert called Wolf’s behavior ’beyond alarming’ for a professional in the field of medicine,” the narrator says. “If Milton Wolf is so irresponsible as a doctor how can he possibly be trusted as a U.S. senator?”

Mr. Wolf is among those trying to unseat Mr. Roberts in the Aug. 5 GOP Senate primary.

Mr. Wolf says that Mr. Roberts is disconnected from Kansas voters, and it is clear Mr. Roberts lives inside the Washington beltway — not in Kansas.

The New York Times reported in February that “it is hard to find anyone who has seen Senator Pat Roberts” in the Kansas house he lists as his home on voter rolls.

In an interview last week with a radio station in Kansas, Mr. Roberts said, “Every time I get an opponent — I mean, every time I get a chance, I’m home.”

Ben Hartman, a spokesman for the Wolf campaign, said that “Senator Roberts showed just how out of touch with Kansas he is, and he showed how far he is willing to go to show ties to the state he left behind over a half-century ago.

“Pat Roberts has been in Washington for 47 years and he doesn’t live in Kansas,” Mr. Hartman said.
