House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said sending illegal minor-aged immigrants back home is tantamount to putting them in a building that’s on fire — and that it’s completely unfair for America to deport them without a proper court hearing.
“We cannot have deportation without representation,” Mrs. Pelosi said, during a hearing on a Republican-sponsored bill that curbs the president’s $3.7 billion request for the border to $659 million, Breitbart reported.
After children testified about their conditions, Mrs. Pelosi then said: “It’s not just about having a heart. It’s about having a soul. And the soul of our country is about respecting the dignity and worth of every person. The soul of our country is about giving every person access to rights who is in our country.”
Mrs. Pelosi then gave a high-five to those groups who are helping the illegals stay in American, Breitbart reported. She also suggested deportation at this point is un-Christian, likening the cause of the minor-aged border crossers to the baby Jesus and his flight to escape violence.
Sending the children back home would be like sending them “back into a burning building,” she said. “So we do appeal to our country and our colleagues to have a heart when it comes to people coming into our country, some seeking amnesty and asylum to escape violence in Central America or wherever they come from,” Breitbart reported.
