RICHMOND, Va. — Jay Gruden says he’ll make room for a fullback in the Washington Redskins offense.
Gruden didn’t use the fullback much during his three seasons as offensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals.
But Gruden says he didn’t have a fullback such as Darrel Young, who is starting his fifth year with the Redskins.
The Redskins have plenty of offensive talent, including Robert Griffin III, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Alfred Morris, so Young’s touches will be limited.
Nevertheless, Gruden said at training camp this week that Young will be a “major part” of the offense.
