Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott complained on Tuesday that the evidence he’s seen regarding the MH17 plane crash has been obviously tampered with by somebody who wanted to purposely conceal something.
“After the crime comes the cover-up,” he said, NBC News reported. “What we have seen is evidence tampering on an industrial scale and obviously that has to stop. It’s not an accident. It’s a crime.”
Mr. Abbott did comment on Russian President Vladimir Putin for being “as good as his word” and giving the thumbs-up to a U.N. Security Council resolution that guaranteed international investigators full and free access to the crash scene, NBC News reported.
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was shot down while flying over eastern Ukraine, killing 298 — including 28 Australians. Mr. Abbott on Monday said the Russian separatists who were basically controlling the crash scene had picked through it to such extent that it looked more like a “garden clean-up” than a crime scene investigation, he said in the NBC News report.
