“Guns or guacamole” best describes the mantra of national spending by the Obama administration, replacing the “guns or butter” model choices between defense and civilian spending.

With the Obama administration now proposing to defend Iraq, we are in effect leaving the border between Mexico and the United States open for exploitation by foreign illegals and political self-interest by the Democratic Party.

Already having spent $816 billion since 2003 on Iraq, it is time to defend our own borders now under attack from the natural hazards of pestilence and disease brought by illegal-alien children entering the United States, not to mention the recent Mexican helicopter attack against members of the U.S. Border Patrol.

Much like Iraq, the United States may well have to defend itself from determined outside forces.
