Former White House spokesman Jay Carney has a new gig as the latest face and voice of the Washington Speakers Bureau — and it’s worth up to $100,000 a pop.

The private lecture opportunity came with a signing bonus, Politico reported.

Mr. Carney is expected to bring in fees of up to $100,000 per speech and will likely prove a big draw with the scholarly university and corporate crowds, Politico said.

The former Washington bureau chief for Time Magazine also said that he’s going to keep a public face on cable and network television, too.

“I’m just talking to a lot of people about a bunch of potentially interesting things,” Mr. Carney, 49, said in Politico. “I’m just having conversations.”

Josh Earnest is now the current White House press secretary.
