Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton nabbed the speaking role for an American Financial conference in Boston next week once former President George W. Bush had to bow out after knee surgery.
Mrs. Clinton, normally charges up to $200,000 per appearance, will sub for Mr. Bush, two sources familiar with the event confirmed to Politico. The conference will run July 23-27, but it isn’t yet know which day Mrs. Clinton will speak.
Mr. Bush was the featured attraction at the conference, but a second partial knee replacement surgery that he underwent in Chicago a few days ago has tabled most of his public appearances, an aide told Politico.
Mrs. Clinton’s aides did not comment, nor did an American Financial spokesperson, Politico reported.
