Former Vice President Dick Cheney said he’s shocked to say it, but he’s got to admit — former President Carter is no longer the worst president in his eyes.
That tag now belongs to President Obama, he said, during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“Jimmy Carter might have been a better president than Barack Obama,” Mr. Cheney said during a Tuesday afternoon broadcast, “and I didn’t think I would ever say that.”
At the same time, Mr. Cheney refrained from calling for Mr. Obama’s impeachment.
“I’m not prepared at this point to call for the impeachment of the president,” he said, The Blaze reported. “I think he is the worst president of my lifetime. I fundamentally disagree with him. I think he’s doing a lot of things wrong. I’m glad to see that the House Republicans are challenging him, at least legally at this point.”
House Speaker John Boehner has launched a lawsuit against Mr. Obama, claiming the president abused his executive powers to grant exemptions and delays for certain aspects of Obamacare without congressional approval. Others in the GOP, meanwhile, have called for Mr. Obama’s impeachment for various executive abuses — some of which have been upheld by courts.
