The Washington Nationals will have a representative at the All-Star game after all.

Tyler Clippard was named to the National League team Sunday afternoon, a day after Jordan Zimmermann had to drop out with an injury.

Clippard replaces Atlanta’s Julio Teheran, who wasn’t eligible to pitch in Tuesday’s game in Minneapolis because he started Sunday for the Braves.

“It’s a give and take. Obviously, I’m honored and happy in that sense,” Clippard told reporters Sunday before laughing and adding, “I’d like to go get some rounds of golf in, but I’ll take one for the team.”

Clippard is 6-2 with a 2.03 ERA in 43 appearances. He was also named to the All-Star team in 2011 and got the win for the NL in that game.

The Marlins’ Henderson Alvarez took Zimmermann’s roster spot.
