An NBC peek into the inner world of Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Obama, turned up an interesting finding that suggests the political power player may have a somewhat god-like view of herself.
NBC News officials filming inside her office picked up a background picture of Ms. Jarrett that stands on her desk.
And in front of the picture of Ms. Jarrett are three little figurines — on bended knee, arms outstretched, heads bowed and placed as if they’re praying before her framed face.
The Blaze reported on the revelation, after news production people at NBC noted its curiosity.
The news organization also suggested that perhaps Ms. Jarrett was sending a self-deprecating message. The Blaze opined: “Does Jarrett really consider herself someone to be worshiped? Although her personality has come under intense scrutiny in the past and there are even accusations that she wields immense power in the Oval Office, the figurines could just be an inside joke or a white elephant gift for all we know. In fact, it could just be a way to poke fun at those who say she really runs the White House.”
Ms. Jarrett, meanwhile, sent out a Twitter message dismissing the whole mystery.
“Don’t worry friends, it was a gag gift. Us strong women don’t need worship — just an economy for the 21st century. #WomenSucceed,” she wrote from her @avj44 account.
