DURANT, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it is helping with an investigation into the discovery of remains found in rural Bryan County.

The OSBI is helping the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office after a local resident found a skull on Sunday. The exact location of where it was found is not being disclosed.

Investigators revisited the area on Thursday and found other skeletal remains. Investigators believe the body is that of a white man 40 years or older. The unidentified man likely died one to five years ago, but there are no missing person’s reports that match the description.

The Medical Examiner’s office plans to extra DNA from the remains and enter it into a national missing person’s database.
