FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - Police say a 17-year-old Fall River boy has been arrested for creating a Facebook page that allegedly displayed nude photos of high school-aged students.

The teen was arrested on Thursday and charged with dissemination of obscene material harmful to minors and possessing child pornography. His name was not made public because of his age.

Police launched an investigation after parents started complaining. The arrest was made less than 24 hours later.

Police Chief Daniel Racine says the teen’s actions were “reprehensible, deliberate and criminal.”

He says his officers worked with Facebook security to identify the person who made the page, which has been taken down. Police seized several electronic devices from the teen’s home.

Mayor William Flanagan urged parents to talk to their children about the dangers of social media.
