GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Two people will be interviewed for a seat on the Greenville Public School Board of Trustees.

The city says a 4 p.m. public forum is set for Tuesday’s City Council meeting at which the applicants will be interviewed.

The Delta Democrat Times reports (https://bit.ly/1iVJ3lv ) Jan Vaughn, who currently holds the seat and is board president, filed earlier this week. Keenan Davis, the senior human resources manager at the Dollar General distribution center in Indianola, filed minutes before Thursday’s 5 p.m. deadline.

The seat on the board will become open when Vaughn finishes her term at the end of February.

The council will vote on its nomination at its Feb. 18 meeting. The winner will serve a five-year term on the five-member board which guides the school district’s policies.
