ATLANTA (AP) - Forecasters say temperatures are expected to rise well above freezing across Georgia on Friday.

The National Weather Service is projecting a high of 53 degrees in Atlanta, a welcome sign for motorists who still encountered ice on some metro Atlanta highways during Friday morning’s commute.

The weather service said temperatures are expected to rise above freezing between 10 a.m. and noon on Friday in the Atlanta area.
