LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Investigators say they believe a mother shot her 24-year-old autistic son before turning the gun on herself near Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Ed Ritter said family members of 48-year-old Thuy Phan and her son, Vincent Phan, reported the pair missing Thursday evening.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://bit.ly/1gz2FvH ) reports that the woman’s oldest son saw his mother’s car at Rock Springs Park and called police. A search team found two bodies in a wooded area around 10 p.m.

Authorities said they believe the mother shot her son before killing herself. They are still trying to establish a motive.
