DETROIT (AP) - A lawyer says the federal government has agreed to pay $400,000 to settle a lawsuit over a car crash involving an FBI agent.

Jim Harrington of the Fieger law firm says the lawsuit was settled last week during a trial in Detroit federal court.

Charlotte Johnson says she had the right of way while driving in Detroit in 2010 when a car driven by FBI agent Brandon Lighter suddenly pulled in front of her. Harrington says Johnson continues to suffer from back and neck problems and no longer can drive.

Harrington says the government repeatedly raised its offer to settle the lawsuit before a deal was struck at $400,000.
