Dennis Rodman, who entered an alcohol rehabilitation program a couple weeks back, said in a CNN interview that the reason he drinks is because he’s bored.

Mr. Rodman also said in the CNN report that he willingly entered the rehab facility as a means of coming to terms with himself.

“It was a great time to come here to reflect and try to put myself at ease, at peace,” he said, CNN reported.

Mr. Rodman has been in national headlines lately for his continued claims of friendship with North Korea dictator Kim Jong-un, and for his widely publicized travels to the nation — along with 11 other basketball colleagues — to put on an exhibition game to honor Mr. Kim’s birthday. In the lead-up to the game, Mr. Rodman crooned a “happy birthday” song to the despot.

Family members of imprisoned American Kenneth Bae said the show was a shocker, and expressed outrage that Mr. Rodman refused to use his one-on-one relationship with Mr. Kim to press for Mr. Bae’s release.
