WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. police are investigating after a woman reported receiving nearly 10 pounds of marijuana in the mail meant for someone else.

The woman says the express mail package was delivered to her southeast Washington apartment. She signed for the package, but when she opened it, mistakenly thinking it was for her, she was surprised by what she found inside: marijuana. She says her name wasn’t on the package.

The woman, a former Postal Service worker, says she called the U.S. Postal Inspector and police.

D.C. Police are investigating the package sent from Fresno, Calif., containing $40,000 in marijuana sealed in plastic packages. Police say they have arrested the woman’s neighbor, 24-year-old Delmario Henry, in the case and he is facing two drug-related charges.
