CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The role of social media involving law is the focus of a wide-ranging conference scheduled for Charleston.
On Friday, a daylong symposium called “Social Media and the Law” is slated for the Charleston Music Hall.
The event is being hosted by the Charleston Law Review of the Charleston School of Law and the Riley Institute at Furman University.
Organizers say 19 panelists and moderators will discuss the impacts of social media on employment law, privacy and legal ethics.
Ryan Garcia, legal director at Dell, Inc., is scheduled to give a keynote address. The adjunct law professor at the University of Texas was previously a multimedia programmer and video game developer.
