KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - A former Mazama High School student who was sexually abused by her volleyball coach seeks at least $1 million in a lawsuit filed against the coach, the Klamath County School District and several district employees.

The Klamath Falls Herald and News (https://is.gd/oLfnY0 ) reports the lawsuit was filed Tuesday at the U.S. District Court in Medford. The victim is identified as Jane Doe.

The coach, 54-year-old Robert Thompson, was arrested in July 2012. He pleaded guilty to sexual abuse and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The lawsuit accuses the district of negligence because it allowed Thompson unsupervised access to Jane Doe and other underage female students.

District Superintendent Greg Thede declined to comment on the suit.
