Police in Russia have identified the two suicide bombers in one of the recent Volgograd terror attacks and have also taken into custody two others suspected of helping.
The National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported the suicide bombers as Asker Samedov and Suleiman Magomedov, CNN reported. The committee believes the two were members of the Buinaksk terror group based in Dagestan.
Ria Novosti, the Russian news agency, reported that the two suspected accomplices who have been taken into custody are brothers. They’re thought to have helped the bombers travel to Volgograd, according to the news agency.
Two fatal attacks in Volgograd in December claimed 34 lives and left dozens injured. The attacks also fueled international fears about the ability of President Vladimir Putin to provide adequate security for the Winter Games, beginning in about a week.
