CRESTWOOD, Ky. (AP) - Voters in an Oldham County precinct have approved allowing a botanical gardens event venue to sell alcohol by the drink.

The change was approved in a special election for Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, located just outside Crestwood. Of 653 people registered to vote in the precinct, The Courier-Journal (https://cjky.it/1hOWEHK ) reports only 15 did so. The measure was approved 13-2 Tuesday.

A revision in state law last year allows voters to decide whether qualified historic sites may sell alcohol by the drink.

Yew Dell could be serving alcohol by the drink as part of its programs as early as spring.
