WASHINGTON (AP) - The National Transportation Safety Board is holding a hearing into a cargo jet crash that killed two pilots at Birmingham’s airport last year.
The agency says the investigative hearing will be Feb. 20 in Washington.
A twin-engine UPS A300-600 jet crashed while trying to land in Birmingham on Aug. 14. The jet was approaching a runway not typically used by such large aircraft because the main runway was closed for repairs.
A statement from the NTSB says the session will review landing procedures, training, adherence to standard operating procedures and proficiency.
It will also examine human factors including decision-making, communication between pilots, fatigue and fitness for duty.
The board also will review UPS dispatch procedures and software limitations.
Investigators have said they didn’t find mechanical problems with the aircraft.
