YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio Supreme Court has set a March hearing to hear complaints from municipal judges that courtroom facilities are crumbling in one northeast Ohio city.

Youngstown municipal judges have for years been urging the city council for years to upgrade the courts. The complaints include that the courtrooms are too dirty, too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter and not well maintained.

The judges in 2009 asked the Ohio Supreme Court to force the city to pay for improved facilities. The high court has set a hearing for March 17 for an appointed representative to hear the complaints.

However, new Youngstown Mayor John A. McNally says he’d like to avoid any more litigation and find a new home for the courts.
