PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded an emergency grant to assist half of the 285 workers who lost their jobs when Xerox shut down call centers in Coos Bay and North Bend.

The $368,000 grant goes to the Oregon Department of Community College and Workforce Development, which will be used to help former Xerox workers with the training and support services needed for a new job.

The call centers closed last summer.
