MILWAUKEE (AP) - Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker says that after more than four decades of calling games for the Milwaukee Brewers, he plans to reduce his road game travel this season.

Uecker, talking on WTMJ radio (https://bit.ly/1kdEK30 ) Thursday, said he still plans to do all of the home games at Miller Park. The 80-year-old Uecker has been doing Brewers broadcasts since 1971. Uecker says that after 59 years in baseball, it’s time to “kick back and relax a little bit.”

Uecker says he’s been in good health lately after undergoing heart surgery in 2010. He wasn’t specific about how many games he’ll give up on the road. Uecker is treasured in Wisconsin as the Brewers longtime broadcaster. The team recently announced a second statue of Uecker will be placed at Miller Park.
