JAY, Okla. (AP) - Authorities are searching for two inmates who escaped from a northeast Oklahoma jail early Wednesday.

Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore says 51-year-old Pete Wolfe and 22-year-old Anthony Anderson escaped the county jail at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say the inmates broke a window to escape from the detention center.

Wolfe was being held on a charge of attempted robbery with a weapon. Anderson was in jail on a failure to pay warrant in connection with a 2010 plea to second-degree rape.

The sheriff says law enforcement officers from Delaware County and the Cherokee Nation and the police departments in Jay and Grove are assisting in the search.
