MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - The Medford School District and the union representing its teachers ended a state-mediated negotiating session with no deal.
The Mail Tribune newspaper reports (https://is.gd/kvS8H1 ) Tuesday’s session lasted nearly nine hours and there is no scheduled date for talks to resume.
Issues that must be resolved include preparation time, compensation, early retirement benefits, insurance caps and the length of the contract.
Superintendent Phil Long says the district offered a new proposal, but declined to say how it’s different from the one offered two weeks ago.
The Medford Education Association gave the district 10 days’ notice of its intent to strike on Monday.
