CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire poll conducted before President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address indicates his approval rating is declining.
The WMUR Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center says 42 percent of adults surveyed say they approve of the job Obama is doing as president, 51 percent disapprove, and 7 percent are neutral.
Of that group, 117 people said they’re registered Democrats, 134 said they’re registered Republicans, and 264 said they’re undeclared.
Since Obama’s reelection in 2012, the percentage of residents who approve of the job he’s doing has dropped 13 percentage points.
The phone poll of 584 randomly selected New Hampshire adults was conducted between Jan. 21 and Jan. 26 with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
