CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.4 percent from November to December - significantly lower than the U.S. unemployment rate of 6.7 percent.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Tuesday that unemployment remained below its year-ago level of 4.9 percent, and employment rose slightly, increasing by 1,276 workers from November to December.

The highest unemployment rate of 6.4 percent was found in Teton County, and the lowest of 3.2 percent was reported in Sublette County.

Officials say unemployment fell from December 2012 to December 2013 in every county, suggesting modest improvement in the state’s economy.
