ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The last GOP candidate to enter the Minnesota governor’s race says he raised $150,000 in five weeks of 2013 and banked most of it.
Former state Rep. Marty Seifert disclosed his fundraising numbers late Monday. His haul puts him behind most other GOP contenders but most of them had many more months to gather dollars.
Seifert entered the 2014 race just before Thanksgiving. He is among several Republicans hoping to be the nominee against Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton this fall.
Seifert, of Marshall, says he had $138,400 left after expenses as of Dec. 31.
All candidates have until week’s end to report their campaign fundraising and spending to state regulators.
Among the GOP governor candidates, businessman Scott Honour has reported raising the most, at $500,000.
