WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida juror has been sentenced to four months in jail and two months of house arrest for behavior that resulted in Wellington polo mogul John Goodman’s DUI manslaughter conviction being thrown out.

A Palm Beach County judge sentenced 70-year-old Dennis DeMartin on Tuesday for two counts of criminal contempt of court.

The Palm Beach Post (https://goo.gl/OiszlL ) reports that Circuit Judge Jeffrey Colbath ruled last May that DeMartin’s misconduct with a drinking experiment and allegations that he withheld key facts about his past during jury selection made it impossible for Goodman to receive a fair trial. The judge vacated Goodman’s 2012 conviction and ordered a new trial.

Police say Goodman was drunk when he ran a stop sign in February 2010 and rammed into Scott Patrick Wilson’s car, which rolled into a canal, where the young man died.

Goodman is founder and owner of the International Polo Club.
