JEREZ, Spain (AP) - Mercedes has included a message of support for its former driver Michael Schumacher on the side of its new Formula One car.
Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg unveiled the Mercedes silver-and-turquoise W05, which has the Twitter hashtag #KeepFightingMichael written on the upper part of its chassis just behind the driver’s seat.
Schumacher suffered severe head injuries in a skiing accident in France on Dec. 29 and has been in a coma since. He remains in stable condition.
Rosberg was Schumacher’s teammate for three seasons before the seven-time world champion retired from F1 for a second time at the end of 2012.
Mercedes presented its car at the Jerez track in southern Spain where preseason testing began on Tuesday.
