JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - U.S. Rep. Don Young reported raising more than $107,000 toward his re-election during the last quarter.
The Republican, in his filing with the Federal Election Commission, reported ending 2013 with nearly $680,000 on hand.
Young is the longest-serving Republican member in the U.S. House, having been first elected to Congress in 1973 after winning a special election. He faces re-election later this year.
Young’s report shows that he raised more than $62,000 from individuals between October and December, and most of the rest from political committees.
Another Republican in the race, John R. Cox, reported raising no money during the quarter and ended 2013 with $699. Cox has unsuccessfully sought the GOP nomination for the office several times.
