CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol is switching from issuing handwritten traffic tickets to ones that are printed out on a computer inside the patrol car.
Patrol officials say the switch should eventually save time for both troopers and drivers.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/19XnSwn ) the new computer system also will allow troopers to instantly run a driver’s information through databases. Up to now, the patrol has had to do that by consulting with a dispatcher over the radio.
Ticket information will go into a state database and drivers can pay the fine within half an hour.
