MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Critics of Vermont’s push for universal, publicly funded health coverage are planning on showing a film in Montpelier they say will expose flaws in the Canadian health care system.
Vermonters for Health Care Freedom is organizing the premiere showing of a film called “Vermont Experiments” at the Pavilion Auditorium in Montpelier on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
The group says the film includes interviews with patients and doctors who have worked with a single-payer system. It says the film will show how the health care system depicted by Gov. Peter Shumlin will hurt the Vermont economy and prompt doctors to leave the state.
The organizers say the screening will be about 30 minutes long, with a question-and-answer session at the end.
