CINCINNATI (AP) - A prominent Cincinnati-area attorney is being suspended from practicing law for two months in Ohio.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (https://cin.ci/1lhYh6r) that the suspension for attorney Eric Deters (DEE’-ters) stems from the same actions that resulted in his suspension last year in Kentucky for violating the code of conduct for attorneys.
Deters did not immediately return a call for comment.
The suspensions involve false statements made in a libel lawsuit brought against Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders and a separate civil suit filed in Campbell County involving a homebuilder.
Deters has litigated a number of high-profile cases in Ohio and Kentucky, including defending an ex-Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader who pleaded guilty to having sex with her former student, now her fiance.
