PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A serial rapist who preyed on mentally disabled women has been sentenced by a Philadelphia judge to spend 24 to 60 years in prison.

Forty-four-year-old William Walker pleaded guilty to raping four women over a 12-day span in July 2012.

Common Pleas Judge Donna Woelpper at Monday’s sentencing hearing called Walker a “danger to society” and a “poor candidate for rehabilitation.”

Prosecutor Ashley Lynam said Walker lured the four women into a vacant building or alleyway then beat and raped them. Three of the victims lived in nearby group homes.

Walker was caught when a witness saw him dragging the fourth victim woman down the street.

Defense attorney Catherine Berryman said Walker has an IQ of 81 and suffered a lifetime of child abuse, psychiatric problems and drug abuse.
