ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - The mayor of Rochester is looking for a new head of her two-member security detail now that the previous job holder resigned after being pulled over twice for speeding on the Thruway.
Local media outlets report that Reggie Hill resigned from his job on Friday, the last day of his six-day unpaid suspension for speeding on Interstate 90 while driving Mayor Lovely Warren to and from Albany for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State speech on Jan. 8.
Troopers pulled over the mayor’s car twice, one each way during the trip, but didn’t issue him tickets.
Hill, who is Warren’s uncle, was hired to oversee the mayor’s security detail after recently retiring as a senior investigator with 30 years with the New York State Police.
Warren took office Jan. 1.
