BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) - Bristol police say local authorities in North Carolina are holding a suspect in the stabbing death of a Connecticut teenager.

Police said Sunday that 19-year-old Joseph Klett was fatally stabbed on Saturday. A car taking him to Bristol Hospital appeared to be speeding on Saturday and was stopped by an officer.

Klett died at the hospital.

Bristol police responded at about the same time to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence where Klett was stabbed. Following an investigation, police say an arrest warrant on a murder charge was issued for 26-year-old Joshua Daniels.

High Point, N.C., police notified Bristol on Sunday that local police took Daniels into custody following a motor vehicle stop. It was not known Sunday if he’s represented by a lawyer.

Daniels’ extradition to Connecticut is being arranged.
