HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - Jackson Kent scored a career-high 17 points as James Madison held on for a 58-56 victory over College of Charleston Saturday.

James Madison (7-13, 2-4 Colonial Athletic Association) led throughout most of the second half but Charleston closed to 56-54 following a 3-pointer by Nori Johnson with 4:48 remaining. Adjehi Baru, who had 13 points and 13 rebounds, made two free throws to close the gap to 57-56 with 28 seconds remaining. Charlotte’s Anthony Stitt missed a 3-point jumper at the buzzer.

Andre Nation had 15 points and Ron Curry added 12 for James Madison.

Charleston (11-10, 3-3) never trailed by more than six in the second half and took a 48-45 lead at the 9:09 mark. Kent then made a 3-point jump shot and followed with a layup and two free throws to give the Dukes a 52-48 advantage.

Willis Hall led Charleston with 22 points.
