KREISCHBERG, Austria (AP) - Alex Fiva of Switzerland won the final World Cup freestyle ski cross before the Sochi Olympics on Saturday, while Ophelie David of France took the women’s competition.

Fiva defeated Johannes Rohrweck of Austria, Michael Schmid of Switzerland and Thomas Borge Lie of Norway in the final for his first victory of the season and sixth overall.

Victor Oehling Norberg of Sweden leads the World Cup standings with 319 points, only 3 clear of David Duncan of Canada and Andreas Matt of Austria, who share second.

In the women’s event, David earned her 26th World Cup win after beating Fanny Smith of Switzerland, Marielle Thompson of Canada and Katrin Ofner of Austria in the final.

Thompson stays top of the standings with 480 points. Katrin Mueller of Switzerland is second with 408.
