SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner says she plans to assemble a task force to review the potential for a new Syracuse University sports stadium in the city.

Miner says she has commitments from several state legislators to participate and is waiting to hear from the university, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office, and Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney.

Miner says she hopes to have the task force set by next week.

Mahoney lined up a commitment from the governor for roughly $200 million in state funding to build a $500 million sports arena in Syracuse, and the county legislature would have kicked in another $100 million or more. But efforts to push the project ahead this year were put on hold because Miner wouldn’t endorse it before Cuomo presented his state budget proposal.
