HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police have fatally shot a robbery suspect in an exchange of gunfire following a carjacking and a chase.
Authorities say no law enforcement officers were injured in Thursday night’s incident.
Harris County sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit following a carjacking and the robbery of a Houston sandwich shop. Officers later spotted the suspect driving the stolen vehicle, which he abandoned and then ran into a neighborhood.
Investigators say the suspect fired at officers during the pursuit. Houston police returned fire and killed the gunman.
His name and further details on the investigation weren’t immediately released.
