Scandal-plagued Anthony Weiner — whose wife is a close associate to Hillary Clinton — laid it on pretty thick for the former first lady this week, characterizing her as quite possibly the best politician for the presidential role in the entire history of the United States.

On Larry King’s Ora TV show, Mr. Weiner said: “If Hillary were to run, she’d be an amazing candidate, arguably the most qualified candidate in the history of the United States ever to run for president,” The New York Post reported.

Mr. Weiner’s sexting scandal, which began in Congress but ran through his New York City mayoral campaign, reportedly caused some issues for his wife, Huma Abedin, with her high-profile boss, then secretary of state. At one point, media reports suggested that Mrs. Clinton’s camp had issued a scathing choice for Ms. Abedin: Your husband or your job.

Ms. Abedin still maintains both. It’s not yet clear whether Mrs. Clinton is pursuing the White House in 2016.
